LEARNING CLEAR HIP CIRCLE TO HANDSTAND THROUGH

PROGRESSION

 

1.Develop strength of shoulders, stomach and back.

2.Learn skills one step at a time through progressions.

3.You , as coach, should be physically tired after a bar training session because there is a lot of support required.

STEP BY STEP.

1.On floor roll backward to handstand with straight arms and hands turned inside.

 

Metal bar with gloves and straps.

2.Clear hip circle to stand on boxes on bar height;

special requirement:

straight arms

dish body shape.

3.From clear front support- several clear hip circles with stop to clear front support with support.

special requirement:

straight arms

constant body shape 

shoulders over the hands                  

    

                                                   left hand                  right hand

 

4.Swing in ``candle`` position with support (start with small rocking and gradually increase amplitude)

special requirement:

straight arms                              

constant body shape

very small hips angle                                   

                        

left hand

                                                right hand

5.From clear front support - 1/2 clear hip circle to ``candle`` swing with support.

6.Swing from ``candle`` position to handstand with support

special requirement:

straight arms

strong body shape

action by opening the shoulders and slight straightening of the hips

7.Clear hip circle to handstand.
