PSYCHOLOGICAL PREPARATION BEFORE COMPETING EXERCISE. 1. When only 2 gymnasts before you have to compete this is the time to concentrate and shut out everything that is happening around you. 2. Picture your routine 1-2 times, done perfectly. 3. Do several actions from elements in your routine. 4. After presenting: take several deep and calm breaths in and out; tell yourself ``I will complete the whole exercise from beginning to end !`` 5. Directly before the start of the routine: concentrate on the apparatus; mentally repeat the first element; depending on your nature give yourself one of these command: ``boldly and with great attention to detail``, or ``calmly``, or ``right to the end``, or ``powefully and to the end`` etc. Try different variants till you discover which is best for you and do not tell anybody -this will be your secret. Try to use the same technique before each marked routine and eventually in time you will feel mach more confident. GOOD LUCK!
