DOES YOUR CHILD NEED EXTRA HOME TRAINING?
Before you start extra training you have to think and ask yourself a few questions. 1. IS THIS NECESSARY? If it is recommended by your child coach– this is necessary and will be of benefit if followed. If for any reason your child missed normal training—extra will be very useful. If possible phone the coach to find out the best way to organize the session. If this comes from the child itself—this is excellent without question. If you decide yourself that extra sessions are needed you have to be very careful because children don`t always want what you want. Hard and strict commands such as do it now can kill a child interest. Try organize extra sessions like a game or competition with prizes. This always works better than ``do it now``. 2. HAVE YOU THE ROOM AND IS IT SAFE ? If you want acrobatic exercises you need a room twice the child height in length and width e.g. 4 ft gymnast– 8 ft x 8 ft room. It would be advantages to have soft carpet or mats on the floor. Try stay as far away as possible from mirrors, glass doors, fireplaces , TVs and furniture with sharp corners. The best place is in the garden. If you have a bar at home and want to train it, make sure the bar is strong, this needs to stand the weight of three times the gymnast weight and use mats underneath. At the present time mini trams are very popular– these are very dangerous. You have to be very careful and concentrated when using them. Do not try anything new if you don`t know how or can`t support your child. HERE IS A FEW MORE SUGGESTIONS. Always start your training with a warm up doing very simple exercises. After warm up check hands and feet of the child– these need to be warm to the touch. Don`t start training for 1—1,5 hours after a meal. Try to finish at least 1– 1,5 hours before bedtime. Always remember its better to finish while doing well than to overtax the child. HOME FLOOR MUSIC ELEMENTSQUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Who am I ? |
