LEARNING STALDER TO HANDSTAND THROUGH PROGRESSION

 

 

  1. Develop strength of shoulders, stomach and back.
  2. Learn skills one step at a time through progression.

 

 

STEP BY STEP

 

1. - straddle hold for 30 sec.

 

 

2. - half straddle lever hold for 15 sec.

 

  1. 2-3 straddle lever to handstand on floor bar
  2. - pike backward roll through half straddle lever hold with straight arms and hands turned inside.

 

 

METAL BAR WITH GLOVES AND STRAPS.

 

 

  1. Straddle pike sole circle (toe on bar not middle of foot).
  2. Straddle pike sole circle – lift off to straddle pike support.
  3. Clear straddle sole circle (high hip).
  4. Clear straddle sole circle to stand on the bar (with support).
  5. From pike handstand (legs together) clear straddle sole circle (late straddle).
  6. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- to stand on the bar (late straddle) with support.
  7. From pike handstand stalder to pike straddle support.
  8. From handstand stalder to handstand.
